Our responsibility was to provide the turn key delivery of the Free Release Measurement Facility including the building construction and provision of various measuring systems. Of the systems provided the Automatic Total Gamma and Automatic Spectroscopy measuring systems were of highest importance. These automatic systems are equipped with conveyors and forklift trucks for loading and unloading the material packages being measured. The measurement itself is performed within an enclosed measuring chamber. Large-size material is measured by the use of two flexible spectrometry measuring systems with mobile detectors.

The movement of material packages is recorded through reading their identification bar codes at each stage of the process. All the data is stored in the Identification and Tracking system. The Control Room is equipped with computers interconnected by Ethernet LAN. All measurement data acquired from the measuring systems are stored in the Oracle database. Control and information software application was also provided. The computer system is connected to the existing Ignalina NPP local area network via Ethernet.
