Dismantling of sterilization irradiator at Lodz Polytechnics, Poland
In 2010 VF tendered successfully for the dismantling of the sterilization irradiation facility installed at the chemistry department of the Lodz Polytechnics, Poland. The work consisted in the removal of existing technology and the disposal of the radioactive sources at the Polish repository of radioactive waste.

The project of “Dismantling the sterilization irradiation facility at the chemistry department of the Lodz Polytechnics, Poland” was started in spring 2010. The work commenced with the removal of existing technology. The radioactive sources were transported into the hot cell and put into containers for permanent storage. Finally the sources were transported to the Polish repository for radioactive waste in Swierk for final disposal.
VF obtained permissions from both the Czech and Polish Regulatory Authorities and executed all works in accordance with Czech and Polish legislature and regulations. The project was successfully completed in the summer of 2011.
